A Fun, Rustic Wedding at West Overton Village in Scottdale, Pennsylvania

Kaitee Robertson (33 and in merchandising management) and Martin "Spike" Frings (39 and in the oil and gas business) wanted their wedding to be fun for the whole family. In particular, they wanted to include their children in the festivities. Their purple and green wedding was designed with the kids in mind. The rustic barn at West Overton Village was decorated with whimsical touches for the reception, like the playful green and white lanterns, the textured paper flower centerpieces and pretty string lights everywhere. For dinner, Kaitee and Spike had an array of kid-friendly "make your own" stations catered by Carson’s Premier Catering, including a bruschetta bar, a fruit and cheese bar, a pizza bar and a candy bar. And instead of a traditional bridal party, Kaitee's crew was full of junior bridesmaids who dressed in adorable purple leotards, tutu skirts and Converse sneakers. The most heartwarming way that Kaitee and Spike included their children was at the ceremony, when all of them participated in the vows as a way of expressing the unity of their family. The newlyweds also had a blast dancing with their kids at the reception! Hot Metal Studio was there to capture all of the awesome moments and pretty DIY details of the day.
