A Fun Gold Wedding at Old Palm Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

Elizabeth Underwood (41 and owner of the Jewelry Agency) and Jason Sherwood (44 and in sales) mixed tropical accents and gold details for a wedding that was personal and fun. “I wanted unique touches throughout the decor, so I worked closely with my vendors to create something different that appealed to me,” Elizabeth says. The couple started their day with a simple outdoor ceremony under twin palm trees, as driftwood and large palm leaves lined the aisle. These decorations were specifically important to the couple. “Driftwood symbolizes a journey to us since the wood is the same, but the sharp edges have become smooth over time,” Elizabeth says. Horticultural Enterprises, the couple’s florist, also put a whimsical twist on their centerpieces. Inside the Old Palm Golf Club, each gold linen-covered table was paired with a mini orange tree to represent Elizabeth’s hometown in Orange County, California. The surrounding stemware and bulb vases also had a personal touch. Jason’s Australian heritage was represented with a trio of orange and green tulips as well as mini Koala bear accents that clung to each glass. Another standout detail: a gold three-tier wedding cake baked by Jaye's Cake Kingdom. Large palm leaves surrounded the confection for a tropical touch as a single white garden rose was placed on the center tier. Liz Cowie Photography captured every moment of the day, below. For future couples, Elizabeth shares a tip: “Look around, laugh and be present, since all the events go by quickly."
