A Fun, Elegant Wedding at Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Katelyn Lafferty (27 and a nurse) and Theodore Maglione (30 and a physician) met while they were both working in the same hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. They quickly became friends and not long after, Ted asked Katelyn out. For his proposal three years later, Ted set up a scavenger hunt for Katelyn with all of their favorite moments and inside jokes as clues. The hunt ended at the spot where Ted asked Katelyn to be his girlfriend and where he now asked her to be his wife. The couple decided to get married in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where Katelyn grew up. "We chose the Franklin Institute as our venue not only for its beauty but also because Ted is currently training as a cardiology fellow, so once we saw the Giant Heart we knew it was meant to be," says Katelyn. Their Center City wedding was romantic, elegant and fun with a color palette of white, navy and blush. The monumental museum hall was lit with blue and purple uplighting as an austere statue of Benjamin Franklin gazed down on the festivities. The reception also featured candlelight centerpieces with pink roses and white delphiniums in silver pedestal vases. Katelyn and Ted's elegant museum wedding was fun and romantic, and they enjoyed every minute of it.
