A Fresh, Romantic Wedding at Norfolk Botanical Garden in Norfolk, Virginia

Jen Palmer (25, preschool teacher) and Dan Schlidt (33, cook) met through a mutual work friend one night in 2008 and they were inseparable from then on. Since then, they have welcomed their daughter Lily into their lives and moved in together. Dan proposed to Jen in the comfort of their home. "It may not have been the most romantic proposal, but since we've been together for so long I knew he really meant it when he said he wanted to move forward in his life with me," says Jen. Their gorgeous wedding took place at the Rose Garden of the Norfolk Botanical Garden. Jen and Dan selected a bright and breezy palette of yellow and white to match the airy ambience of the garden. They were wed under a gazebo with a chandelier of yellow roses. Wedding day fashions at the spring wedding included bridesmaids in floor length, pale yellow dresses and Dan and his groomsmen in gray suits. Jen wore a simple strapless ball gown with a beaded belt and a fingertip veil. The festivities ended with a Green Bay Packers groom's cake and a beautiful three tier wedding cake with cascading cake flowers.  Jen and Dan's blooming rose garden wedding was fresh and romantic, a lovely springtime wedding.
