A French Quarter Wedding at Royal Sonesta Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana

Since they got engaged in the Big Easy, Amanda Thompson (29 and an interior designer) and Dustin Richter (25 and a physician recruiter) had a glamorous French Quarter wedding at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana. The couple said “I do” during an intimate courtyard ceremony surrounded by friends and family. A brass band then led the newlyweds and their guests in a celebratory parade through the streets of the French Quarter. “This was a real treat for our guests who had never experienced this New Orleans tradition,” Amanda says. The newlyweds brought their glamorous ballroom reception to life with candlelight, gold decor and a classic color scheme of blush and white. “I loved my bouquets and centerpieces,” Amanda says of the white, blush and light purple arrangements of peonies, anemones and roses. Embracing the city's cuisine, the couple served gumbo and shrimp and grits. They also had a crepe station, where guests had them made to order. Entertainment included dancing and a photo booth with props. After an evening of celebration, the newlyweds exited as guests blew bubbles at them. —Marissa Hermanson
