A French Quarter Wedding at Omni Royal Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana
Holly Lambert (30 and an office manager) and Steven Mars (34 and a corporate recruiter) celebrated their nuptials with a quintessential French Quarter wedding at the elegant Omni Royal Orleans hotel in New Orleans. “I really wanted our wedding to be classic and romantic, and the Omni filled the bill,” Holly says. “We chose this location for the courtyard but immediately fell in love with the beauty and history of this French Quarter hotel.” The couple brought their elegant wedding to life with a palette of ivory and blush along with glitzy metallics. “I love rose gold, and my ring is rose gold, so a lot of the colors were centered on that,” Holly says. Because of rain, the ceremony was moved indoors from the courtyard. “Our florist really stepped up to transform the simple room into a beautiful ceremony space,” Holly says of their rain plan. Holly and Steven personalized their ceremony with a two-piece ensemble, and the officiant shared sentimental stories and memories of the couple. After the ceremony, friends and family celebrated with a cocktail-style reception with a variety of tasty dishes—roast beef sliders, Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, crab cakes, cochon de lait and mini muffulettas. “The flowers were always going to be a focus in my wedding since I come from a family of florists,” Holly says. “I left a lot of this planning to my mother and the amazing team at Nola Flora. I gave them some vague ideas of what I wanted, and they created floral masterpieces.” The couple incorporated special New Orleans touches throughout their wedding day, from the king cake favors to their grand exit and second line parade with a brass band. “It was definitely something to remember,” Holly says. — Marissa Hermanson
