A Fourth of July Wedding at Dana Powers House in Nipomo, California

When a wedding falls on the Fourth of July, a red, white and blue theme seems practically mandatory. So that's what Carly Meyer (31 and an IT program coordinator) and Travis Helton (35 and an aerospace engineer) did. He wore flag-printed socks and cuff links. She wore sparkling red heels. And they infused a summer barn wedding with inspiration from their shared love of America, Independence Day and space. After the outdoor wedding at Dana Powers Barn in Nipomo, California, in the grassy lawn next to the lemon orchards—the groom and the couple's attendants made their entrance to "Rocket Man" by Elton John—the festivities moved inside to the barn for a fun-filled reception spotted with playful details like custom drink koozies and moon-pie favors. The decor blended rustic charm with glamorous details, including a chalkboard seating chart, mason jar glassware, wildflower arrangements and glitter table numbers. A first dance to Nat King Cole's "Fly Me to the Moon" was a fitting touch for the day's theme. —Michelle Thomas
