Framed photos of the couple sat above a table filled with candles in various shapes and sizes.
Cobalt blue pumps peeked out from under Kate’s reembroidered lace, V-neck, modified trumpet gown, which she paired with a cathedral-length veil.
Low arrangements of hydrangeas, roses and seeded eucalyptus were surrounded by cut-crystal votive candles.
“Our band, Sauce, had everyone dancing from the moment the ballroom doors opened until the last song of the night, when Kevin and I were pulled on stage to sing with them,” Kate recalls. “To our surprise, the grand finale of the evening was a confetti shower!”
Blush and ivory floral swags, along with a gold ampersand, decorated the bride and groom's chairs at the reception.
The soft candlelight reflected off the gold sequined tablecloths, which sat beneath low arrangements of hydrangeas, ranunculuses and roses.
The couple chose You are the Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne for their first dance.
Warm rose uplighting and lush arrangements of hydrangeas and roses added to the romantic ambience of the space.
Brilliant cobalt pumps from Kate Spade were the ideal something blue for Kate's bridal ensemble.
Passed hors d’oeuvres at the cocktail hour included mini-lobster-rolls to incorporate Kate’s family’s love for the Hamptons, and mini-tacos, inspired by the couple’s favorite taco stand in Austin: Torchy’s Tacos.
Kate's modified trumpet Monique Lhuillier gown was only the fourth one she tried on.
Cute I'm Dancing... coasters let the staff know to leave drinks on the tables while guests hit the dance floor.
The bridesmaid rounded bouquets of Vendela roses, creamy blush roses, spray roses and white ranunculus contrasted perfectly against their deep blue gowns.
Simple white ranunculus boutonnieres were a clean and simple addition to the men's lapels.
Personalized napkins printed with fun facts about the couple were a hit during cocktail hour.
Fuchsia and black chevron print socks were a fun addition to the groomsmen's traditional black tuxedos.
The cake was a chocolate and white chocolate confection, covered in ruffled fondant and topped with two vintage-inspired birds on top.
“I collaborated with the stationer to draft and design the custom invitation suite, which was letterpressed in navy ink and gold foil,” Kate says. Navy and gold were then incorporated into most of the other paper elements as well, from the programs and menus to escort cards and coasters. “It was a labor of love!”
The couple married at a historic church in downtown Austin. The ceremony took place at 5:00 p.m. during a wild downpour.
In lieu of a traditional guest book, guests were invited to share advice on small, leaf-shaped pieces of paper that were hung on branches decorated with white orchids.
The bridesmaids wore matching floor-length, Amsale dresses in a deep blue color. They carried round bouquets of roses and ranunculus.
Tall mercury glass vases were filled with white dendrobium orchids and ivory Vendela roses.
During the cocktail hour, guests enjoyed agua fresca shooters made of fresh cucumber, lime and mint juices.
