A Formal Spring Wedding at the Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, Maryland

Libby Walsh (29 and an associate) and Patrick O'Donnell (31 and works in client services) met at the rehearsal dinner for the wedding of their mutual friends. A week later, they began dating. After travelling for days, Libby and and Pat came home to an apartment covered in roses. Libby was astonished when Pat got down on one knee, not because of the proposal, but because she was amazed that he was able to plan all of this while they were on a trip together. The couple were wed in the ballroom at the Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, near where Libby grew up. Their ceremony was a unique one. The celebrant got to know Libby and Pat as a couple and crafted a personalized ceremony for them. "Everything was so personal," says Libby. Cocktail hour was held in the adjoining room, during which time the ballroom was converted from a ceremony venue to a formal reception hall. Their spring wedding decor was full of light blues, soft whites and pops of green. Flower arrangements included peonies, ranunculuses, hydrangeas, hyacinth and viburnum. Since their wedding fell on the same day as the Kentucky Derby, Libby and Pat played a game in which guests who sat at the table with the same number as the winning horse were given a gift of Kentucky Derby glasses. This country club wedding was formal and fun.
