A Flower-Filled Navy-and-Yellow Wedding at Mystical Rose Gardens in Baldwin, Wisconsin

Busola and Tolu "wanted our day to be such a special day for our friends and family. We wanted our family and friends to have a unique wedding experience," says Busola. Luckily, the bride's sister is a wedding planner and helped the couple realize their vision with a meaningful, family-focused wedding at Mystical Rose Gardens in Baldwin, Wisconsin, with a vibrant navy-and-yellow color palette. "I discovered Mystical Rose Garden when my sister created a styled shoot at the venue. Before I was even engaged, I told her that would be my future wedding venue," says Busola. "My husband Tolu wanted an outdoor wedding ceremony so everything worked out perfectly. We incorporated cultural and religious traditions throughout our day. We are both from the same state in Nigeria. We soon found out that our mothers went to the same college. We wore traditional attire after the first day and did cultural dances. My husband and I were also able to share our love for each other by reading our personal vows. I read my vows to prep myself in front of my little brother who also happened to be my Man of Honor. The vows moved the guests with both laughter and tears. We also prayed over our union and our guests," shares Busola. 

From the couple's first look to their vow exchange and flower-filled reception, each moment of the day was special and meaningful to Busola and Tolu. "My favorite part of the wedding was during our first look. My husband and I were so eager to see each other. We were able to bond right before the big celebration," recalls Busola of starting the day with an intimate first look with Tolu. However, the day's highlights just kept coming! While the first look may have been a favorite moment from the day, the couple's ceremony was the day's most special element. "The most memorable part of the wedding day was the ceremony, it was so beautiful. My sister (owner of This Love Weddings) surprised me and nearly brought me to tears by adding white rose petals down the aisle moments before the ceremony began," says Busola. "I would say the most special moment of my wedding day was marrying my husband. It was the happiness and excitement on his face when he saw me on our wedding day that sealed it all. It was also the thought of being married to him for the rest of our lives." Following their joyful wedding ceremony, the couple and their guests celebrated with a reception complete with a three-tier black velvet cake, French macarons and key lime cheesecake to end the celebration on a sweet note.
