A Floral-Inspired Outdoor Wedding at Montesino Ranch in Wimberley, Texas

Vibrant florals served as the main focus at this rustic-chic wedding, creating pops of color among the surrounding woodlands at Montesino Ranch in Wimberley, Texas. "We wanted our wedding to be designed around our amazing spring florals," Mallory Bird (30 and a math teacher) says of her marriage to Derek Sample (29 and a manager of financial planning and reporting). "I knew the bright colors would give the venue an amazing pop along with a flair." By laying out an inspiration board, the bright pink, orange and yellow palette came to life—mixed with the occasional olive green and a variety of wooden details. Mallory was speechless when she spotted her vibrant bouquet filled with poppies, peonies, maidenhair ferns, eucalyptus and ranunculus (her favorite flower). Lights twinkled above dining tables decorated with long wooden boxes, which overflowed with leaves and colorful blooms. The antique wooden piece displaying an abundance of desserts caught our attention, captured by Christina Carroll Photography. "Given that we are both dessert lovers, we thought it would be better to have an assortment of desserts instead of having a traditional cake," Mallory says.
