A Festive, Fall Wedding at Amber Grove in Moseley, Virginia

Kelsey Plahn (26 and a dietitian) and Andrew Miller (35 and a creative director) met through Andrew's mother, who was Kelsey's close friend and who introduced Kelsey to Andrew. On their first date, Andrew knew Kelsey was the one. Kelsey, on the other hand, wasn't so sure. Only a few months into their relationship, Andrew told Kelsey he bought her a diamond, but he kept her waiting for another six months before proposing to her among family and friends at the restaurant where they had their first date. Since Kelsey and Andrew are both creative people, they decided to plan and design their wedding by themselves. Their festive fall wedding was held at Amber Grove in Moseley, Virginia, near Richmond. Andrew and his groomsmen wore checkered red and navy shirts with suspenders and bow ties along with gray blazers and vegetable boutonnieres. "We used sage, young carrots, green peppers, radishes and kale leaves," Kelsey says. "The guys' only request was for salad dressing for the perfect mid-ceremony snack." The bridesmaids wore pretty navy lace dresses by Eliza J. Kelsey looked radiant in a tulle ball gown by Maggie Sottero and carried a breathtaking bouquet with orange ranunculus, pink peonies, purple dahlias, purple scabiosa, crocomsia, white delphiniums and other greens. Tables at the tented reception were set with sage tablecloths and lace and burlap table runners, and centerpieces included pails of greens and small glass vases with dahlias on wood crates and slabs. Kelsey and Andrew ended their fun and memorable night with a lindy hop dance lesson for their guests and a dessert table with countless cookies and cakes made by their dearest family and friends.
