A Fall Rustic Wedding at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania

Anne Marie Nemecek (32, a supervisor of financial reporting and analysis) and Patrick Geene (31, a delivery coordinator) met while they were in a wedding party for each of their friends. The next night after the wedding, Patrick called Anne Marie to take her out on their first date. After dating for a little over a year, the couple took a vacation at the Finger Lakes in upstate New York and had dinner one night at Belhurst Castle. When Anne Marie and Patrick went for a walk along the edge of Lake Seneca before going to the restaurant, the couple sat down on a bench and Patrick proposed as they watched the sunset. The wedding was held at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and since fall was both Anne Marie and Patrick’s favorite season, they decided to have an October wedding decorated with a cranberry and silver color palette accented with yellow, orange and ivory. The ceremony took place outside in front of a stone structure lined with tea lights, and afterwards had the reception inside the venue. The dining room tables were decked out in burgundy table linens with ivory napkins and square glass vases filled with circus roses, burgundy hypericums and a mix of yellow and orange gerbera daisies. Instead of a traditional guest book, the couple had a wooden bench that guests were invited to sign, symbolic of where Patrick had proposed to Anne Marie. "We hadn't really put a name to the style of our wedding, until after when so many guests had described it as "rustic elegance," which really captured the feel we were going for," says Anne Marie.
