A Fall Modern Wedding at The Icebox at Crane Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Elisa and Matthew's urban wedding hit home when they tied the knot in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in September of 2014. Having found each other through eHarmony and a mutual friend, the two fell in love on the streets of Downtown Philadelphia, giving their guests at the wedding an inside look to how their relationship blossomed over the years. During their engagement, the couple ventured to Belgium to pursue their love of craft beer. To continue their love of hops, Elisa and Matthew added dried hops to the boutonnieres. "As a special touch, I added a swatch from my late father's mechanic shirt and wrapped it around the bouquet as my 'something blue', and that way he was with me as I walked down the aisle," says Elisa. Knowing that most of the reception would be spent with their 200+ guests, Elisa and Matthew shared their first dance privately so they could have a few minutes together before their big celebration. On the streets of Philadelphia, one of the groomsmen played “Inevitable” by Anberlin on an acoustic guitar. "Later in the evening, the videographers told all of our guests about our private dance, and we danced again to our song with everyone," says Elisa. Instead of providing wedding favors for their guests, Elisa and Matthew made a donation to ACCT, Philadelphia's animal shelter where they adopted their fur baby, Gracie, two years ago. "We put cards out on each seat letting our guests know of the donation, and stamped the card with Gracie's paw print. Gracie also made an appearance as a prop in our photo booth," says Elisa. A simple piece of advice from the bride? "Enjoy every second, even when it's stressful."
