A Fall-Inspired Wedding at Wildcat Cliff Country Club in Highlands, North Carolina

Allison Laubacher (27 and a CPA and public auditor) and Stuart Pearson (28 and a graduate student) were set up by their best friends. Stuart was on his two week leave from Afghanistan and happened to be at their mutual friend's graduation party. "Our connection was instant and we talked and went on a few dates until he went back to Afghanistan later that month. The next six months were full of emails, gchats and planning our future together," says Allison. Three years later Stuart took Allison to Highlands, NC for a weekend of hiking and relaxation with their two dogs. On a hike at Glen Falls, Stuart popped the question in front a beautiful waterfall. "We celebrated together that evening and I came home to a surprise engagement party with all of my family that our parents and Stuart had planned," says Allison. A wedding in Highlands, NC seemed like the perfect fit, so the couple invited their family and friends to join them at the Wildcat Cliff Country Club. "We wanted to share this beautiful place with our friends and family and thought a mountain weekend in the fall would be the perfect setting for a wedding," says Allison. An outdoor ceremony set against a stunning mountainous backdrop kicked off the day, followed by an indoor reception designed with the fall season in mind. The couple chose a rich autumnal color palette for the affair with pops of bright orange, red, yellow and chocolate brown throughout. Details like wooden crates and leaves added a rustic note to the decor, while fun, funky touches like Stuart's groom's cake, a pile of chocolate covered bacon, reflected the couple's personalities.
