A Fall-Inspired Wedding at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort in Paradise Valley, Arizona

For their Thanksgiving weekend wedding, Tamara Monson (46) and Jim Hughes (51) agreed on three must-haves: a venue with a desert ambience, a scrumptious cocktail and dinner menu and a lively band. “We wanted our guests to get a taste of the beauty of the desert and have a terrific experience in the Valley,” Tamara says. Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort provided stunning desert views for their ceremony on a stone terrace at sunset. Their wedding planner, Outstanding Occasions, infused the flowers and decor with a fall-inspired palette of purple, red and orange hues, paired with soft metallics and neutrals. At their ballroom reception, the Ryan Sims Band brought the dance floor to life, creating exactly the kind of intimate celebration Tamara and Jim envisioned. Don't miss their wedding cake by Classic Cakes and Confections atop a Lucite cake stand: It had pearly blush fondant on the top three tiers with a single tier of white ruched fondant, which captured the modern elegance of the whole day. One detail they loved? They surprised their guests with flag cookies that represented their home states, South Dakota and Texas, as well as the state where they met and got married, Arizona.
