Laura Honn (27 and an assistant loan officer) and Jeff Christie (25 and a loan processor) met through a personal ad on Craigslist. After dating for two years, Jeff proposed on July 4 under the fireworks. They chose Alpine Park and Gardens for their wedding because they loved the outdoor amphitheater for the ceremony and the rustic ballroom for the reception. It was an extra bonus that Barry and his staff were a breeze to work it. “I was able to meet with Barry a few times, he even came to my house one night, and I described how I wanted my day to go,” Laura says. “He took the decorating and planning into his own hands based off my style and personality and created a nearly stress-free planning experience for me.” Inspired by the fall season, the couple used shades of orange, yellow and brown for their color palette with succulents as their main flower. They committed to DIY details, too, such as the floral arrangements and giant three-tier cake, which we all done by Laura's aunt. Instead of a traditional guest book, the couple set up a video booth for guests to record messages and advice for the newlyweds. “The video booth ended up being a wonderful and, at times, hilarious gift which only improved as the night went on,” Laura says. “We watched the video messages once we got back from our honeymoon and felt like we were reliving our wedding.”

Jeff proposed with a vintage-inspired Neil Lane diamond from Kay Jewelers. “It fit my personality perfectly and is the most unique ring I had ever seen, I still get regular compliments on it today,” Laura says. “It has so much scroll work and detail that no band was needed.”
Laura wore a lace wedding dress decorated with crystal beading.

Jeff wore a succulent and berries in a wine cork for his boutonniere.
Laura and Jeff’s dog, Lua, was the ring bearer for the wedding. She wore a fall-inspired wreath to match the decor.
Laura carried calla lilies, succulents, billy balls and peonies in her fall-inspired bouquet.
“We were blown away by all the natural elements that the park owner, Barry, had incorporated into his venue,” Laura says. “What really won us over was the outdoor amphitheater where we would say our vows. The guest seating is built into the landscape and the stage drops off into the woods creating a spectacular backdrop.”

The bridesmaids wore brown dresses from David’s Bridal and the groomsmen wore Vera Wang tuxedos.
“We loved the reception area, which was just a few steps away from the amphitheater,” Laura says. “Inside was natural wood beams, which provided a rustic feel, decorated with white sails and hanging grape vine chandeliers.”
“The cake was my favorite part of the wedding decorations,” Laura says. “My aunt Debbi made the cake and had the wooden slab base and dividers specially cut and made the cake from scratch. Only the top layer of the cake was real, the rest was fondant on top of foam but Debbie made chocolate, carrot, lemon and white sheet cake to be served to guests with dinner.”
