A Elegant, Fun Wedding at Marina Shores Yacht Club in Virgina Beach, Virginia
Amanda Locklear (28, registered nurse) met Michael Soehren (27, medical assistant) while she was in nursing school. She had been assigned to go to his hospital for clinicals and she was dreading it. Fortunately for her, Mike was assigned as her guide, and they soon developed an easy, fun rapport. They began dating and a year later, they moved to Jacksonville, North Carolina together. One Halloween, Amanda's mother invited them over to decorate holiday cookies. Mike surprised Amanda with a cookie reading, "Will You Marry Me?" The couple decided to be married at the Yacht Club at Marina Shores in Virginia Beach, Virginia. They liked its easy elegance and location by the marina. For their wedding colors, Amanda and Mike chose sapphire blue because sapphire is their birth stone. They accented their waterside wedding with whites and grays. Amanda's favorite flowers are white lilies, so all the floral design, provided by Black Iris, included white lilies alongside white and blue delphiniums, white roses and blue dendrobium orchids. The bridesmaids dressed in knee length, satin blue dresses while Mike and the groomsmen wore gray suits with blue ties and suspenders. Amanda wore a mermaid style wedding dress with a scoop neckline and a bow in the back from David's Bridal. This bright, sapphire blue wedding was sophisticated and fun.
