A Dusty-Blue Color Palette Brought This Estate Wedding in the Rolling Hills of Virginia to Life
Anne and Sanford met in medical school at the University of Virginia so a wedding celebration in the same rolling hills as their alma mater was just what they wanted to celebrate their union. "We really wanted a classic outdoor spring/summer wedding. We met in Charlottesville, VA in college at the University of Virginia (Go Hoos!) and fell in love with it, so we decided to have our wedding there. Plus, there are a ton of amazing outdoor venues in the area! Our color palette was dusty blue/beige/white with lots of greenery," they share. To accent the stunning country estate venue, the couple chose flowers that were, "very simple and elegant—mostly white/off-white and green with a few subtle pops of peach/pink. We love greenery/the outdoors and really wanted the flowers to reflect that, which our florist did beautifully." A lawn wedding ceremony ensured guests were able to enjoy the Blue Ridge scenery before they decamped to a sailcloth tent for dinner. After their elegant Virginia wedding came to a close, the couple reflected on the day, offering this advice to current to-be-weds: "Really take time to enjoy the moment because it goes by so quickly. Sanford and I took about 10 minutes right after the ceremony alone just the two of us and that time together was really important. Also, there's no one thing that is the 'most important' thing at a wedding—it's whatever is most important to YOU. For us, that was good food/drinks and having a live band to dance to, and the rest fell perfectly into place. Make sure to prioritize what is actually important to you."
