Hotel Atotonilco El Viejo in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, is an amazing venue—with beautiful open spaces, surrounded by greenery and trees and plenty of amenities—to host an intimate, relaxing wedding weekend. That’s why it was perfect for Giovanna Vazquez (23 and a fashion designer) and Jose Luis Alvarez (38 and a clothing factory owner) to celebrate their marriage. Their day began with a heartfelt ceremony under a tree, followed by ambient music and flavorful fruit cocktails and mojitos. A special touch to their cocktail hour were traditional San Miguel ice cream flavors: tequila, vanilla, chocolate and cherry. Giovanna, an aspiring wedding planner, created a laid-back vibe at the reception with DIY pastel flower arrangements and vintage decor, including lanterns, mason jar mugs and Volkswagen bus escort cards. One detail not to miss: the wedding cake. It was a naked cake scattered with fresh berries and white roses, which was perfect for the warm climate. See the prettiness below, captured by Tremaine Photography.

Giovanna looked positively stunning in her wedding dress. It had an intricate drop-waist bodice with straps, a low back and a full tulle skirt, which she paired with an elegant cathedral-length veil.
Giovanna and Jose Luis went for a lighthearted vintage wedding theme, and their invitations couldn't be cuter: They included a vintage Volkswagen bus and a ticket theme!
Giovanna, an aspiring wedding planner, created her incredible bouquet (and all the flower arrangements). It had pink and white roses with scabiosa pods, ivy, eucalyptus and hanging amaranthus.
The bridesmaids wore floor-length coral dresses in various styles to match the laid-back romantic wedding vibe. Giovanna made their bouquets with baby's breath and pink and white roses.
