A DIY, Rustic-Chic Wedding at Fairview Farm in Powhatan, Virginia

When Emily Bottoms (21) and Hunter Bottoms (26 and a chemical operator) first visited Fairview Farm in Powhatan, Virginia, it hadn't even been built yet. "They showed us the grounds and the plans for the massive barn for receptions they were planning, and we were sold," Emily says. Emily and Hunter decided on a rustic-chic wedding style. As a result, their wedding was full of inspirational DIY details. Everything was DIY, from the kraft paper wedding invites to the burlap and lace mason jar centerpieces. Our favorite details? The chicken wire seating chart and the mix-and-match seating at the reception. Emily and Hunter chose an eggplant purple, pink, gray and ivory palette for their decor. The bridesmaids wore floor-length eggplant dresses and the groomsmen wore gray suits with eggplant vests and ties. The ceremony aisle was lined with purple-tipped chrysanthemums, the dining tables were decorated with arrangements of pink and white peonies and baby's breath, and the wedding cake featured cascading purple and white chrysanthemums and daisies. The couple beautifully decorated the two-floor barn with white draping, string lights, a crystal chandelier and a large ivory wreath. And as a treat, Emily and Hunter offered their guests a candy bar. See all the beautiful details, captured by Leigh Skaggs Photography, below.
