A DIY Mountain Wedding at Manning Park Lodge in Hope, British Columbia

Kimberly Campbell (26 and a teacher) and Dale Walker (25 and a framer) met their first day of high school, both sharing the same homeroom. The two considered themselves good friends, but it wasn't until many years later that their relationship turned into more. When Dale decided to propose, he took Kimberly on a hike near their hometown and got down on one knee at the top of the climb. For their wedding, the couple planned a simple, rustic affair at Manning Park in their hometown of Hope, British Columbia. Kim grew up skiing and hiking at Manning with her family and it is a place of great significance to her. Dale also had spent a lot of time at Manning, so it made for the perfect venue to match their outdoorsy personalities. Taking advantage of the scenic setting, the couple hosted the ceremony at the Cascade Lookout, the mountains creating a breathtaking backdrop for the occasion, and the reception in the Cascade Room of the Manning Park Lodge. The color palette and flowers were inspired by the mountain setting itself and lots of DIY details, like the stationery and the centerpieces, reflected the couple themselves. Life-size version of the couple's favorite childhood games, like Scrabble and Jenga, dotted the lawn during cocktail hour and the table names were named after hiking terms, as a nod to Kimberly and Dale's love of hiking and the outdoors.
