A DIY-Filled Indian Wedding at the Hyatt Regency Princeton in New Jersey

For Susan Ittoop (27 and a media buyer) and Parth Oza’s (26 and a civil engineer) traditional Hindu wedding, the couple added DIY touches and plenty of character at every turn. Parth’s Jeep Wrangler got a fun update for his preceremony baraat. They designed all of their paper pieces, then printed them locally, and after marrying under a birchwood mandap, the two hopped on a rickshaw for some fun reception shots. Susan’s muted bouquet of roses, calla lilies and stephanotis popped against her coral lehenga. The bright palette matched the day’s mood. “We wanted the vibe to be upbeat and happy,” Susan says. Susan’s brightly clad bridesmaids clutched all-white bouquets, and Parth’s groomsmen dressed in traditional teal kurtas. At cocktail hour, guests sipped “SuPar mules,” the pair’s take on a Moscow mule, then sat for dinner in a room awash in ivory and gold. Hydrangeas, amaranthus, roses and stephanotis marked tables, while favors—decorative trinket boxes from India—marked each seat.
