A DIY Christian Wedding at Paint Creek Country Club in Lake Orion, Michigan
Mary Brophy (25, student) met Paul Joseph (31, Database Administrator) at a Bible study through their church. As a new member of the congregation, Mary began attending bible studies to meet her fellow congregants and further her faith. After a lot of time spent in the presence of mutual friends at outings, Paul finally invited Mary to spend time apart from the group. The two watched hockey and played Nintendo 64, pastimes enjoyed by the pair, and the two fell in love. Mary went to work on Mackinac Island the following summer, facing the couple with the reality of a long-distance relationship. About a month into Mary’s new job, Paul drove the four and a half hours to see her, with a romantic surprise in store. “He asked me to take him to the most beautiful spot on the island which I thought was a silly question, since the entire island is beautiful. But there is one spot I loved over the rest and that is Anne's Tablet.” says Mary. Mary took Paul to the secluded area that features views of the island’s marina, park, and downtown area. There, Paul asked Mary to be his wife on bended knee and presented her with a stunning solitaire diamond ring. Mary and Paul planned a spring wedding over the course of their 11-month engagement. The two said ‘I do’ during a Christian ceremony held at the Paint Creek Country Club in Lake Orion, Michigan. A dinner reception followed the afternoon nuptials. Photographer Daniele Miljour of Daniele Carol Photography captured every special moment of the couples’ big day.
