A Destination Wedding at the Now Jade Riviera Cancun in Cancun, Mexico
Alysha Campbell (26 and an executive assistant) and Cody Woodward (26 and a forklift operator) describe their relationship as “weird happy people in love.” They began talking after a P.E. mishap playing soccer when Alysha kicked the ball and knocked Cody to the ground. Seven years later, Alysha got her proposal in rose petals on their hotel bed in Cancun, Mexico, and two years later, the couple headed back to the Riviera Maya for their wedding.Their ceremony took place on a patio off the beach, and the reception was in a private room nearby. To stay cool in the hot weather, Alysha wore a strapless taffeta high-low ruffled gown with a watermelon belt added to match the bridesmaids’ dresses. Cody wore a linen suit and the groomsmen wore linen pants and white shirts. The couple chose pink and orange as their color palette to match the tropical setting, which was all captured by Creationsphoto. “I would highly suggest a destination wedding to anyone who doesn’t want a large wedding and doesn’t mind giving up some control on how everything is done,” says Alysha. “I woke up on my wedding day stress-free and confident that everything would go together flawlessly, and that’s exactly what happened.”
