A Destination Wedding at Hotel Villas Carrizallilo in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico

Lauren Enneking (26 and a flight attendant) and Evan Stanley (33 and a firefighter) met at Tides Tavern in Gig Harbor, Washington. The restaurant is significant to both of their families—Evan’s family has owned the place for 40 years, and both Lauren and Evan’s aunts and uncles met there. The couple had a destination wedding at Hotel Villas Carrazalillo in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca Mexico. Lauren found her dress from The Wedding Bell in Tacoma, Washington, and let her sisters chose their own bridesmaids dresses. “We wanted bright colors in a relaxed setting,” says the bride. The couple had a tres leches cake from a local baker and tropical flowers throughout the venue. Their reception included an open bar with homemade tequila. The couple wanted to create a relaxed setting for everyone who joined them for their wedding, so they rented out all 12 villas at Hotel Villas Carrazalillo for the week to enjoy a week in paradise with their loved ones. When the couple left Puerto Escondido, they traveled all throughout Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras for a month.
