A Destination Wedding at Hotel Riu Caribe in Cancun, Mexico

Nikoll Garrido (26 and a dental assistant) and Eric Garrido (31 and a mechanician) met at a friend's house while watching football. A few years later, Eric proposed in the driveway of that same house with a past, present and future diamond ring. The couple had a destination wedding ceremony in Cancun, Mexico and were wed under a gazebo overlooking the beach at the Hotel Riu Caribe. "Since most of our guests stayed for at least three days, we were able to spend time with them and have a more intimate wedding," says Nikoll. Nikoll wore a sweetheart neckline strapless A-line gown with sequins throughout and a lace-up back, and Eric wore a sand colored suit. The two participated in the sand pouring tradition at their wedding ceremony and created a piece of artwork together.  The bride wanted the wedding color palette to look crisp and tropical, so she chose royal blue and lime green for the wedding party and decor. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour and a meal at the all-inclusive resort, and proceeded to spend time together doing activities throughout the weekend. "As far as destination weddings go, I highly recommend it," says Nikoll. "It's intimate, everyone gets a vacation and the best part is that it allows your wedding to last longer than a few hours."
