A Desert Wedding with Cosmic Details at Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale in Arizona

Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale provided breathtaking views of the surrounding desert for Evy and Dane Lyons's nuptials. The theme and hashtag, #thecosmicduo, "was inspired in part by how lucky we felt to have found each other and our mutual admiration of the universe," Evy says. "I grew up in Minnesota. Dane grew up in Utah. One went off to the jungle of West Africa, and the other went into the Marines. Our cosmic essences finally became entangled in Silicon Valley." The day's color palette of blues, silvers and mulberry echoed the night sky. The bridesmaids wore mismatched blue dresses and carried greenery hoop bouquets. Evy chose a high-neck sheath frock paired with a half-up hairstyle, while Dane sported a navy-blue suit. For the outdoor ceremony, the couple kept the décor minimal, letting the landscape shine. Guests consulted paper seating charts on a galaxy-inspired wall before entering the modern, rustic reception. Blue-and-white patterned linens dressed up the rectangular tables. "Our centerpieces were potted native blue agaves flanked by a mix of desert-inspired greens and wildflowers in our accent color, mulberry," Evy says. The couple served a modern tiered wedding cake with a red hand-painted design, and they shared a first dance beneath twinkling string lights.
