A Cozy, Fall Wedding at the Stimson-Green Mansion in Seattle, Washington

Chad and David love to sing, so it's appropriate that the two met at a karaoke bar. "Neither of us are really bar people, so it really must have been fate that we ended up at the same Seattle bar on the same Tuesday night," says Chad.   The two were married at the historic Stimson-Green Mansion in Seattle, Washington. "It was the perfect size, as it only holds about 100 people, and it has a very warm and intimate feel to it -- two large, ornate fireplaces, amazing woodwork and furnishings made this the right place for us. We knew we wanted to have the wedding at the peak of fall colors, so we chose the third week in October. The venue really shines at this time, too, with the fires lit, and it getting dark outside so early," says Chad. Auburn, red, orange and yellow were the main color scheme for the event, to highlight the season. Fallen leaves and painted pumpkins also gave off the autumnal atmosphere.

Chad and David painted pumpkins white to match their autumnal decor, but added special effects, like their monogram and glittery stems to amp up the glam factor.
Grooms and groomsmen wore orange billy ball boutonnieres accessorized with a very fall touch of a single spotted pheasant feather.
Attendants carried white and orange bouquets of flowers down the aisle.
"I was going for a sort of Mad Men orVanity Fair Young Hollywood Issue look. The girls in our wedding party all got chocolate brown J cCrew dresses on eBay in a style they liked, and the lone guy in the party wore a black suit with a brown necktie," says Chad.
Fall Tree-Inspired Ceremony Programs
The couple was married in one of the ornate ballrooms at the Stimson-Green Mansion, and later converted the ceremony space into the dining and dancing space for the reception.
The two were married beneath a garland of orange flower heads, draped in an asymmetrical frame at the Stimson-Green Mansion.
In a nod to the season of fall, Chad and David used autumn colors and details for a cozy, familiar feel. Branches and leaves had a prominent spot in all the decor.
Escort cards at the reception were stamped with ombre leaves for another nod to the season.
"We decided that we didn't want a traditional wedding cake, so we chose a bakery that has the most delicious cakes! They look like ordinary round cakes, but we decorated them with autumn leaves, and a sweet cake topper of two little birds made of tweed fabric, which was created by David's best friend, who was in the wedding party. We had three different kinds of cake to choose from, so everyone was happy!" says Chad.
Candles surrounded elaborate branch and leaf centerpieces at each table at the reception.
