The Bride Alexandra Chung, 28, director of alumni affairs at Teach For America in South Louisiana The Groom Elliott Rouse, 28, a professional civil engineer The Date October 9 For their nuptials, Alexandra and Elliott wanted to bring their families together for what felt like dinner and a block party, but with fancy clothes. They chose Elliott’s parents’ home, country-inspired details, and a royal-blue and yellow color combo.

Guests took home hand-etched Mason jars, made by Alexandra’s stepdad. She and her bridesmaids hand-wrote personal notes and hand-tied them to each jar.
Alexandra carried a lush mix of sunflowers, blue hydrangeas, veronica, tulips, irises, and button mums.
The five bridesmaids wore one-shoulder dresses with ruffle details and carried mostly blue bouquets.
Elliott’s dad and sister handmade this wedding post.

For dessert, the couple served cupcakes frosted with blue and yellow icing. They built the cupcake tower themselves.
Elliott wore a small and simple boutonniere of mini sunflowers, blue delphiniums and rosemary.

The ceremony took place in one of the property’s pastures, just a short walk from the reception area.
Alexandra’s fit-and-flare gown had a ruched taffeta bodice and a skirt embellished with beaded lace appliques.
Flower girl Catie wore a halo of hydrangeas and mini sunflowers.
Instead of using traditional paper programs, the couple had a bridesmaid write theirs on a whiteboard for a more casual, intimate feel.
The couple’s four dogs (Louey, Zoe, Cooper, and Tucker) walked down the aisle with the wedding party.
Big blue bows were tied to all of the chairs at the ceremony -- by friends and family.
Blue linens and vases filled with yellow flowers and lemons decorated the dinner tables.
