A Country Wedding at Oak Hill Farm in Apple River, Illinois
Sarahi Morales (26 and in marketing) and Omar Cordova (30 and a sales engineer) knew they wanted a farm wedding. When they visited Oak Hill Farm in Apple River, Illinois, they knew it was just the spot for them. "The venue was stunning and the coordinator was amazing to work with," Sarahi says. "It was exactly what I had always dreamt of." The couple chose a simple palette of ivory and sage to decorate their rustic celebration. Bouquets were made up of ivory calla lilies, ivory roses, green viburnum and baby's breath, and similar flower arrangements filled wine bottles wrapped in twine and mason jars for the centerpieces. Sarahi's bridesmaids wore floor-length sage green dresses while the groomsmen wore gray suits. This palette looked beautiful at the outdoor ceremony, which took place under a white wedding arch by the farm's pond. The reception took place under a tent that was illuminated with string lights. The space was set up with a long farmhouse-style head table and round dining tables with chiavari chairs. Sarahi and Omar added paper lanterns over the dance floor to create an eye-catching visual effect. In the corner of the tent stood an antique carriage that Sarahi and Omar used as the gifts table. For wedding favors, Sarahi and Omar gave their guests s'mores kits, and Oak Hill Farm let them use the fire pit so that they could enjoy the treats between dances. And for dessert, they had a beautiful ivory wedding cake decorated with burlap and lace accents. Tara Melissa Photographie captured the day.
