A Country Rustic Wedding at Cactus Creek Barn in Dickson, Tennessee

Cactus Creek Barn in Dickson, Tennessee, is the picture of country rustic: This picturesque venue offers lush, tree-covered grounds, a wooden reception barn and even horses. That’s why it was a perfect match for the wedding Leah Neeley (25 and an ophthalmic technician) and Dean Hamel (28 and an aircraft maintenance technician) had always envisioned. Their celebration began with an outdoor ceremony next to a creek, where they said “I do” surrounded by 200 of their friends and family members. A reception followed on the patio and inside the barn, where everyone dined on delicious Tennessee barbecue and kicked up their cowboy boots to country music by Cosmo Creations. So many details were DIY, from the hand-painted burlap aisle runner to the floral arrangements, and even cornhole lawn games inspired by Leah and Dean’s family football rivalries. One of Leah’s favorite details was the wedding cake: She found the rustic design online, and her baker matched it perfectly. But the highlight of Leah and Dean’s wedding day was simply being surrounded by the people they love in a setting that reflected their personalities and relationship. “We wanted our guests to be able to let loose in a casual environment and enjoy themselves,” Leah says. “Country living is good for the soul.” Justin Wright Photography captured all the pretty details of their wedding day.
