A Country Classic Wedding at Birchwood Farms Country Club in Harbor Springs, Michigan

College athletes Carrie Cousino (30 and an attorney) and Scott Koerber (31 and in construction management) met as undergrads at Michigan State University while they both played for the school's baseball and softball teams. "We became really close, but eventually Scott left to play professional baseball," Carrie explains. Over the years, the two kept in touch until reuniting at a university football game in 2012. The two immediately picked up where they had left off and began dating long distance until Carrie made the move to South Carolina to be closer to Scott. "We got engaged that August when Scott proposed to me at The Battery in South Carolina," Carried says. "He told me that he chose the historic spot since it would be there forever." The to-be-weds returned home to Michigan to wed at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Petoskey before celebrating with 150 guests at the Birchwood Farms Country Club in Harbor Springs. Shades of purple were paired with pastels and wildflowers in order to complement the natural beauty of the surrounding area. "We incorporated birch wood into the table numbers and escort card holders too since we really wanted to capture the look of the area," the bride explains. As for wedding advice for future brides, Carrie says: "Something won't go as planned, but you need to let the small things go. As long as there is good music, food and drinks, everyone will have a great time."
