A Country Chic Wedding at The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park in Evergreen, Colorado

Allison Olsonowski (21 and a preschool teacher) and Chip Olsonowski (21 and a US Marine) met in high school. They had originally planned to get married in 2012, but Chip was deployed to Afghanistan. So, they had a courthouse ceremony before he left. When he returned, Allison moved to North Carolina to be with him. Her parents then gave the couple the wedding of their dreams exactly one year and seven months after their first I Dos. They tied the knot again at The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park in Evergreen, Colorado. It was not where they originally planned to be married (when they planned their wedding a few years ago), but it was even better than they expected. The had an outdoor ceremony next to a pond that is home to wild elk and bison who even made an appearance at the wedding. Afterwards, they went inside the three-story stained glass and exposed wood barn complete with antler chandeliers and skylights. They paired burlap with pink linens for a chic country feel throughout the details. The best part was the BBQ dinner. “We chose a caterer that put a more sophisticated spin on things, by BBQs standards, at least,” Allison says. “So guests chose from pork, beef or chicken all slow cooked for 14 hours. They were served with four signature sauces, rolls and sides. It was presented self-serve buffet style so guests could indulge as much as they wanted.” At the end of the night, guests got to take home their mason jar favors, leftover food, pastries and flowers.
