A Country Chic Wedding at Cotton Creek Barn in New Home, Texas
Jaclyn Ratcliff (25 and a lab technician) and Russell Ratliff (32 and a diesel mechanic) met on a blind date through mutual friends who thought they would be perfect for each other. A year after they started dating, Russel popped the question at a homecoming bonfire for their alma mater, orchestrating a surprise for Jaclyn complete with her closest friends to help the couple celebrate. Jaclyn and Russel's wedding was a perfect slice of West Texas at Cotton Creek Barn in New Home, Texas. Jaclyn wanted an outdoor wedding and Russel wanted country, so the venue was the ideal blend for the couple's country chic wedding. True to her roots, Jaclyn featured cotton bolls in the arbor at the ceremony, baby's breath bouquets and mason jars. Her lace dress was perfectly complimented by the blush bridesmaids' dresses and the men's khaki suits. The couple decorated with soft pink and vintage white decor, including lots of cotton and pearls. After an outdoor ceremony placed perfectly in front of an old rail car, the couple joined their guests for a barn reception, where they danced under strings of bulb lights. "The laid back and fun atmosphere best reflected us as a couple," says Jaclyn.
