A Country Chic Tuscan Wedding at Podere Spedalone in Pienza, Italy

This romantic summer wedding in Tuscany warmed our hearts! Chiara Cimarelli (40 and an attorney) and Simone Cucarachi (38 and an attorney) had a country chic wedding that embodied the classic romance of the Italian countryside. The story of how the couple encountered their ceremony venue is straight out of a storybook. “We selected the church by chance -- rather, the church selected us,” the bride says. On a rainy winter night, “our GPS was confused and continued taking us to the path where there was a church. When we selected the church [as our wedding venue], we realized it was the church from the first time we visited Val d’Orcia.” They chose Podere Spedalone as the reception spot where they could enjoy an intimate meal with 38 of their closest friends and family members. The menu was “very Tuscany,” with a barbecue where guests could request a piece of meat cooked to be cooked in front of them. For their wedding decor, “we wanted something that could convey the idea of the countryside in summer, with a golden sun and fields,” says the bride. Her favorite part? “The fact that our wedding was very intimate, relaxed and that every detail was something that reflected our personalities.”
