With the help of the planning pros at Simply Grand Events, Cassie LaMendola and Matthew Morgan hosted a contemporary garden party that exuded organic elegance.

While the natural beauty of Jackson Hole’s mountainous landscape served as the centerpiece for the ceremony, Cassie and Matthew’s vision reigned supreme during the reception. Draped creeping vines, bistro lights and glass globes bearing glowing votive candles were key in creating the intimate, natural and modern feel the couple was after.

A scheme of black, white, gray and gold was key in maintaining a sophisticated aesthetic, while white flowers, textured greenery, local green apples and other accents kept things feeling fresh and romantic. For an element of visual drama, the couple opted for a mix of long wood farm tables draped with eucalyptus garlands and round tables covered with rich gray velvet linens and dramatic black taper candles in vintage brass candlesticks.

“It was such a simple thing, but to me it elevated the table settings from something seen before to something with a little bit of edge, while keeping with the elegant, romantic and slightly rustic vibe we were trying to maintain,” Cassie says of the couple’s decision to decorate with black candles.
