A Contemporary Rooftop Wedding at Central Library in San Diego, California

Well aware of the popularity of rustic weddings, Sofia Murga (27 and a PhD candidate) and Dustin Tannenhaus (30 and a management consultant) wanted their wedding to stand out, opting instead for a modern, simple vibe for their day in San Diego, California.  Sleek calla lilies and a palette of blush pink and gray provided the backbone for their contemporary wedding at the recently renovated Central Library, which moved from the Epstein Bay View Terrace to the Shiley Special Events Suite for dinner and dancing. "We couldn't have asked for a better venue in downtown San Diego," Sofia says. From the start, Sofia's heart was set on a backless dress, but her vision proved hard to find. "I ended up going to nearly 30 stores," she says. "But when I tried this Stella York gown, I knew it was the dress for me....It was so elegant! The detail in the lace and the train were gorgeous." Wanting the delicate lace of her gown to take center stage, Sofia opted for a simple veil for their sunny rooftop ceremony. —Meghan Overdeep
