A Combo of Fun and Formal Details Informed This Fall Wedding at Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis, Missouri
Angie and Jake don’t believe in sacrificing fun for the sake of elegance. Instead, Angie and Jake planned a wedding that incorporated the two side by side in harmony. Case in point: The couple followed their traditional Catholic ceremony with a colorful balloon send-off. After the vows, guests filled the sparkling formal banquet hall to dine at several different food stations, with menu items ranging from sliders, French fries and sushi to tacos and pasta. With his tux, Jake paired polka-dot socks and then threw on a white dinner jacket for the reception. Altogether, the duality of each of the fun and formal details alongside one another represented the couple’s personalities and, of course, made for a day Angie calls “truly magical."
The couple incorporated wine, emerald and navy tones into the watercolor liner of their stationery. Angie and Jake juxtaposed the elegant reception space, which included hanging gold lights, with the vibrant linens and place cards. The pair also erected a gold tree in the middle of the space to pay homage to fall. Red menus labeled “let’s eat” complete with maps of the food stations sat atop navy-colored linens and sparkling gold flatware. Vines of Italian ruscus, garden roses and ranunculus added a pop of color to the white cake.
