A Colorful Wedding at Santa Fe Farmers' Market in Santa Fe, New Mexico
Three years after they met in Columbus, Ohio, through common friends, Mary (29 and a communications consultant) and Dan (34 and an engineer) got engaged while hiking Santa Fe's tallest peak, Santa Fe Baldy. "Dan surprised me at the top of the summit with a ring made by his family jeweler," Mary says. For their September nuptials the following year, the pair booked the Santa Fe Farmers' Market to celebrate their wedding alongside 150 guests. "The market's romantic bistro lighting caught my eye," Mary says of the moment she realized the Santa Fe mainstay could serve as a wedding venue. "When I found out you can rent the space, I met with the owners right away and secured a date." With the help of Erika Mari Events, Mary and Daniel transformed the industrial pavilion into a wedding-worthy reception space using locally sourced florals, personalized table settings and plenty of pops of color. "We're laid-back people who enjoy traveling, adventure and spending time with friends and family," Mary says of their playful reception at the Santa Fe Farmers' Market. "I think our wedding reflected that." —Rachel Sylvester
