A Colorful Rustic Wedding at Good Harbor Estate in Lake Leelanau, Michigan

Colorful wildflowers inspired Samantha Pfitzer (31 and an emergency nurse) and Joeseph (Joe) Decker’s (32 a financial advisor) waterfront wedding overlooking Lake Michigan.

Prior to getting engaged, the Ohio-based couple traveled to Traverse City, where they immediately fell in love with the area. “We made the choice to get married up north to keep the wedding small and personal,” Samantha says.

Guests enjoyed an alfresco cocktail hour next to the reception tent, where a Polaroid photo booth was set up along with lawn games. Since the pair wed in a vineyard, guests enjoyed local wine from the estate dubbed “Bride’s White” and “Groom’s Red.”

In addition to a thistle boutonniere and bright pink bow tie, Joe accessorized his gray suit with one detail Samantha didn’t see coming. “I bought Joe a grape soda pin a few years ago since the Disney movie Up is so special to us,” she says. “I forgot about it until I met him at the altar and saw it was pinned to his lapel!”
