A Colorful Palm Springs-Inspired Wedding at the New Haven Lawn Club in New Haven, Connecticut
Shannon McGee (38 and a marketing account director) and Michael Suppe (34 and a sports editor) played up vibrant florals and a tropical palm leaf motif to give their retro, Palm Springs-inspired fete an undeniable flair. The duo said their vows in front of a fireplace mantel adorned with a colorful floral installation, which served as the ceremony’s focal point. “The most important thing was for our wedding to feel undeniably ‘us,’” Shannon says. “I wanted to infuse it with as many personal details as possible so the day felt as unique as our relationship.” One of the biggest ways Shannon let her personality shine was through her outfit. “I get emotional just thinking about my dress,” Shannon says of her long-sleeved, illusion lace design. The reception took place in the club’s ballroom, which boasts existing art deco chandeliers. “I was reduced to tears when we visited the venue,” Shannon says. “It was one of the easiest decisions we made.”
