A Colorful Outdoor Wedding at the Bourne Farm in Falmouth, Massachusetts
Kara Doyle (29, Planner at Rue La La) and Justin DuMouchelle (31, Investment Analyst) met as teenagers in Cape Cod through a friend in 2000. "The sailing instructor picked up the lifeguard," says Kara. The two started dating two years later after the two began spending more time together away from their waterfront jobs. After 10 years of dating, Justin asked Kara to marry him while on vacation in Mexico. Justin popped the question on Kara's birthday by way of a written sentiment in her birthday card. After reading the words, Kara turned to find Justin on bended knee and presenting a yellow diamond stunner. Over the course of their 18 month engagement, Kara and Justin planned a hometown summer wedding. On August 24, 2013 the two tied the knot in the company of 145 of their closest friends and family members in an outdoor ceremony at the Bourne Farm in Falmouth, Massachusetts. After their farm setting ceremony, the bride and groom, along with their wedding party, went down to the very same beach where they met as teenagers to take their wedding pictures. The couple invited guests to a reception, also at the Bourne Farm under a large tent. The tent, illuminated with string lights and lanterns, held long farm tables, which were accented by clusters of small wildflower arrangements. The rustic chic celebration included a dessert table, complete with a blush wedding cake, s'mores marshmallow pops and ivory frosted cupcakes. Kristin Chalmers captured every moment of the couple's big day.
