A Colorful, Laid-Back Wedding at a Family Farm in Conklin, Michigan

Vibrant, locally sourced wildflowers and dozens of DIY details lent a homegrown feel to Holly Holbrooks (35 and a psychiatrist) and Sara Haack’s (34 and a psychiatrist) intimate wedding at Sara’s family farm where she grew up.

“We were inspired by the colors of the rainbow, of course,” Holly says of their punchy color palette. Thrifted vases displayed vivid bunches of blooms, and colorful dinner napkins popped against ivory linens. Guests snacked on blood-orange cheesecake and chocolate cupcakes before taking home DIY bath salt favors and seed packets. “Every detail was representative of the farm and us,” Holly says.

All of the flowers were grown by Sara’s next-door neighbor and collected in buckets the day before the “I dos.”
