A Colorful Fiesta Wedding in Succop Nature Park in Butler, Pennsylvania
Nicole Makrinos (30 and a Spanish teacher) and Roberto Canella (31 and a lawyer and paralegal) honored their respective Greek and Mexican backgrounds by infusing their nuptials with cultural traditions and a vibrant palette of red, pink, yellow and orange.
“You can never have too many flower girls,” Nicole says of enlisting the help of four tutu-clad attendants to sprinkle petals down the alfresco aisle. “I wanted all of them to look like little fairies.”
Nicole wore an A-line tulle dress complete with a sweetheart neckline and hand-beaded lace appliqué detailing.
The couple tied the knot in a bilingual Mexican lasso ceremony that called for a beaded rope to be placed over their shoulders.
A custom papel picado was strung up throughout the reception space, while table numbers were written in both English and Spanish. For an added pop of color, tables were topped with vibrant zinnia centerpieces made from flowers homegrown by the couple.
The newlyweds shared a sentimental first dance to the Spanish hit “Sabes” by Reik.
