A Colorful Fall Wedding at the State House in Indianapolis, Indiana
After meeting as undergrads at Ball State University, to-be-weds Shauna (23 and a wellness coordinator) and Zachary (25 and an architect) planned a fall wedding for 150 family members and friends at the Indiana State House in downtown Indianapolis. "We chose the venue because it was so elegant," Shauna explains. "The long, marble stairways, beautiful wood work and stained glass ceiling made it the perfect place to say 'I do'." For their special day, Shauna chose a white, satin, a-line dress with a sweetheart neckline while her groom donned a classic tuxedo with a gray color twist. "Our wedding was in October, so it had a fall, outdoorsy theme that was still classic and simple," the bride says. Fall-themed elements like burnt orange calla lilies were prevalent throughout the reception space along with DIY touches like handmade invitations. "I saved thousands of dollars on my wedding by creating my own save the dates, programs, favors, centerpieces and so much more," says Shauna.
