A Colorful, Bohemian Wedding in California
Kimmy Matich and Gavin Heaney transformed an old-school Latino night club for their Mexican-inspired white wedding. “It hadn’t been used in quite some time, so we did pretty much everything ourselves, from the setup to the organization of tables and even the cleaning,” Kimmy says. The bohemian ceremony took place under an arbor decorated with red and pink sunflowers, roses and macramé draping. The colorful flowers matched Kimmy's bouquet, and they juxtaposed the couple’s all-white ensembles. “Gavin always wanted to wear all white at his wedding, so I had the entire wedding party wear white. I thought it would be gorgeous in photos and so rockstar,” Kimmy says. The bride wore a long-sleeve bohemian lace dress, a beachy half-up hairstyle and nude platforms heels with an Aztec-inspired design. Bright flowers also appeared in the reception centerpieces, where they popped against white tablecloths and tin vases. As a finishing touch, Kimmy sourced eclectic colored glassware at vintage and thrift stores.
Our favorite #MakeTradition Moment: “Gavin and I both love street tacos, and we had an amazing guy we met set up a street taco bar of authentic Mexican tacos,” Kimmy says.
