A Colorful Bohemian Wedding at Lionscrest Manor in Lyons, Colorado
Leslie Sperlin (27 and works in insurance) and Elliott Dunn (30 and works in healthcare) met at a local bar in their college neighborhood. Elliott proposed while they were skiing in Steamboat, Colorado. They were skiing down the mountain when Elliott stopped Leslie to take a picture. “While I was fiddling with my phone, Elliott pulled a ring from his pocket and got down on one knee,” she says. “I was so unbelievably surprised that I immediately started crying and fell backwards into a snow bank!” The venue was one of the most important parts for Leslie and Elliott. They looked a several other locations, but Lionscrest Manor was an easy decision for the outdoorsy couple. “I would have to say that the venue itself really captured who Elliott and I are, what we enjoy most about each other and where we've chosen to live our lives together,” she says. “We are closest to each other and to God when we are outside. Lionscrest has some of the most beautiful scenery in Colorado. Our out of town guests were truly amazed.” Although the main colors were navy, white and gray, the couple made sure to have a colorful wedding. They worked with Boulder Blooms to create red, yellow, orange, green and lavender accents with sunflowers, calla lilies, roses, hydrangeas and wildflowers. The flowers from the ceremony were reused in the reception to cut costs. Leslie even wore blue and orange flowers in her hair for a fun touch.
