A Coastal, Classic Wedding at Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, California

The open wooden doors that led to the banquet hall at Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, revealed the simple blue and white palette of this classic wedding, inspired by Greece, the honeymoon destination. Daniel Sanz (43 and a banker) and Robert Baade (46 and a retail manager) had their ceremony inside the small, intimate chapel that comfortably fit their guest list of 60, with a backdrop wall made entirely out of glass that revealed coastal views, captured beautifully on camera by Derek Chad Photography. Daniel and Robert wore Hugo Boss suits in different shades of blue with white collared dress shirts, reflecting the day's themed hues and the water. At the reception that followed, small wooden beach chairs with seating assignments were displayed on a board that read "At the Beach," with tables dressed in white and blue linens named after Greek islands. Appetizers of spanakopita (spinach pie), chicken skewers and jumbo shrimp were passed around, and the night was filled with a range of music to entertain their family and friends. Our favorite detail was the eye-catching blue and white wedding cake, with a drape texture accented with seashells that was topped with figurines depicting Daniel and Robert. "The entire day everyone just kept saying they could feel the love and care we had for each other," the couple says. "They knew we lived in the moment and would have fun."
