A Classy, Vintage Inspired Wedding at United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland

Emily Lenhart (26, business analyst) and Nicholas Rausa (28, nuclear submarine officer) started dating in high school after Nick asked Emily out to their homecoming dance. They dated for 11 years before Nick proposed to Emily on a visit to New York City during the holidays. Although it was only a few days after the New Year, it was a beautiful 70 degrees outside, the perfect temperature for a proposal by Bethesda Fountain in Central Park. "The rest of the day was a blur, but I still remember an overwhelming feeling of happiness and love," says Emily. Emily found the inspiration for her wedding in an antique tea cup, of all places. She loved its vintage style and hues of mallard green, cream, gold and light pink. With this color palette, Emily and Nick's wedding was a gorgeous, classy affair. Their ceremony was held at the beautiful chapel of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where Nick attended school. The tented reception was held at the nearby Shorehouse Gardens in Edgewater, Maryland. Tables at the reception were set with gold and green linens and brown chiavari chairs and centerpieces consisted of romantic arrangements of peonies, roses and Queen Anne's lace. The vintage theme was carried through to the dinnerware, which included a variety of stunning vintage china and gold flatware. Wedding fashions included Nick and his groomsmen in uniform, the bridesmaids in floor length mallard green Amsale dresses and Emily in a classic Pronovias gown with lace appliques.
